The “Southall Neighbors Club” is a Social Club for homeowners, residents, and tenants of the Southall Subdivision in Raleigh, NC. Its purpose is to facilitate communication amongst its membership. This club is an independent Club and is not affiliated with the Southall Homeowner’s Association or the Southall Subdivision Property Management company.
This website, and its companion Newsletter Southall Neighbors Newsletter serve as the medium to facilitate communication amongst the members. The Newsletter is sent by US Postal Mail to all homeowners, residents, and tenants. The electronic version of the Newsletter is published on the website and also sent via email to all individuals who Register via this website.
All homeowners, residents, and tenants of the Southall Neighbors subdivision in Raleigh, NC, are eligible to become members. The Property Management Company and the Homeowner’s Association cannot become members of the Club since this a Social Club for individuals to share their personal thoughts about our community. The Property Manager and the Homeowner’s Association have their own official website to convey official information. Of course, individual members of the Board of Directors are welcome to Register and participate in the Club’s activities and conversations since they are also homeowners in the Southall Subdivision. However, it is understood that the Board members who choose to register are expressing their own personal views as homeowners and they are not communicating in their official capacity to present the official positions adopted by the Homeowners Association and its Board of Directors.
Any visitor to the website can read all of the content and comments. However, you have to register via the website and log on in order to post comments. All comments are moderated to ensure that, at the sole discretion of the editorial staff, they are professional and respectful before they are approved to be posted. The editorial staff will never “edit” any individual’s comments; all comments are published exactly as submitted. If the editorial staff feels that a particular comment is not professionally and respectfully written, the poster will be sent an email explaining the rationale for the rejection of their comment and they will be welcome to submit another comment based on our expectations of professionalism. Comments will not be rejected if they are opposed to the opinions of the editorial staff.
No, anonymous comments are not permitted. All comment posters must be registered and logged in to post comments. However, after completing their initial registration, each user will be assigned a unique nickname (e.g., “SouthallNeighbor-001”, “SouthallNeighbor-002”, etc.). This nickname is permanently assigned to each registered user and does not change across the different comments by the user in the website. Each user’s comment notes this Nickname, rather than their actual name, as the “author” of the comment. This is done so that individuals can post freely without fear of harassment. The only way an individual poster’s real name could become public would be if they typed their name in the body of their posting (since we do not edit the posting in any way).
