Southall Homeowner’s Committee for Improvement

Fellow Southall Subdivison homeowners, welcome to another issue of our independent Southall Neighbors Newsletter!

We need improvements in how our subdivision is managed. Some of the issues that need to be addressed are:

  1. Making the Board election process more transparent.
  2. Making Board of Directors decision-making process more transparent.
  3. Have a better process for how amendments to ByLaws and Covenants are proposed, discussed and voted upon.
  4. Have better ways for homeowners to communicate with the Board of Directors and Property Manager and get timely and complete responses.
  5. The rental cap vote has gone on for nearly two years; it is no longer being voted on and did not pass; yet our Realtor Disclosure on the website states that the rental cap is still “currently being considered”; this affects your ability to sell your house.

I asked the Board of Directors if any member of the Board will meet with me and suggested they form a “Homeowner’s Committee for Improvement”; but the Board simply said they will discuss the matter in “Executive Session” and declined to meet with me to form this committee.

There is no reason a Homeowner’s Committee should not exist. So I have decided to go ahead and form this “Homeowner’s Committee for Improvement” and I am asking all homeowner’s to join and give your input.  We will then summarize all suggestions and present them to the Board of Directors.

I have scheduled the first meeting of this “Homeowner’s Committee for Improvement” for July 30, 2026 at 7:00 pm.  The meeting will be available both in person and virtually.

Please save the date and join us!
